Lily Lake
East of Middle Amana #12,
on 220th Trail
Witness the spectacular scenery of the Lily Lake in Middle Amana.
From late July to mid-August, nearly 160 acres of water are
covered with large, yellow, lotus lily blooms. Wildlife-from
eagles to otters-is abundant here.
Millrace
While driving through the seven Amana Colonies, you will soon notice the Millrace.
In the 1860s, settlers of the Amana Colonies dug the 7-mile canal
to power the woolen mill in Amana. Though it is no longer used
for this purpose, efforts are underway to repair this
historically significant feature of our National Historic
Landmark.
